Too Big To Fail Kindle

Kindle Too Big to FailSorkin’s “Too Big to Fail” is too good to put down. A truly tremendous work that will grab you by your brain from the very first page. As you might suspect, a nauseating amount of detail is made public regarding the greed and unaccountable reckless decision making that goes on at the top levels of government. However, Sorkin points to a few individuals that know what is right and want to carry it out.

The level of research required to put this together is staggering. Most Americans are just unaware of how very close that our financial system was to complete collapse. Had we known just how precarious our situation was, there would have been no food on the shelves or cash in the banks for weeks.

The “too big to fail” argument has its origins directly at the corner of Broad and Wall Streets. Beginning with the Carter years up until Obama the financial system was allowed to merge and balloon into such a monstrosity becoming itself the system. At the same time, the financial sector had been deregulated allowing for reckless leveraging of leverage.

So what was the reason for the ultimate collapse?  Was it a product of erroneous financial systemic suppositions or just old fashioned greed?  Grab a front row seat and witness the backroom deal making that transpired over the course of 7 days when America hung in the balance and was found wanting.
